天然の綿には、長短さまざまな繊維が含まれます。そこから短い繊維だけを落とし、長い繊維を残すとまっすぐで切れにくい糸を作ることができます。 長い繊維が多いと糸の品質が安定し生産効率が上がる一方、綿本来の姿から遠ざかり、綿が元々持っている温かみやふくらみは失われます。

ラフィは本来糸にならない短い繊維をブレンドし、元々の綿に近い繊維の配合で紡がれます。そうすることで綿本来の風合いが生かされ、糸に自然なゆらぎやふくらみが生まれるのです。

Typically, by removing the shorter fibers and utilizing a higher proportion of long fibers, it becomes possible to produce yarn that is straighter, more durable, and of higher quality, all while improving production efficiency. However, as cotton moves further from its original, natural state, it gradually loses some of its inherent warmth and fullness.
